How To Make The Most Of Blog Photography Days...

If you're like me and pretty much work 9-5 then you will understand that during these winter months good, natural daylight barely exists before and after work. This is why we have to organise ourselves on our day off and take lots of photos ready to be posted onto Instagram, Blog etc...
  1. Keep a list throughout the week of any blog post ideas you have and photos you'll need to take
  2. On your 'photography day' line up all the products/items you need to take photos of so that you can make the most of the good lighting without the sun going behind the clouds whilst you're searching for a lipstick!
  3. Have your props ready. If you've seen my Instagram you will know I love using flowers as props both fresh and fake. If I am going to use fresh flowers I will make sure I buy them a couple of days before I take photos so that they have bloomed.
  4. Take note of products/items you already have on your Instagram so that you can create new, fresh photos.
  5. Don't rush through taking photos. Sometimes I only take 1 or 2 photos of a product thinking they look great on my camera, once i've transferred them to my phone I notice that the product isn't in focus or not bright enough and I don't want to upload it.
  6. Take plenty of photos. Similar to the last point, don't rush! Take lots of photos from all different angles and with different props. Depending on the lighting & the product I like to mix it up and photograph a product on a flat lay and with a backdrop and decide which I like better after.
  7. Clear space on your phone or camera so that you don't have to waste time deleting images.
This is how I like to prepare so that I can make the most out of my photography days. I like to update Instagram every day and sometimes twice a day so it's always good to have lots of photos saved on my phone.

I hope that these 7 points helped you in some way!
Much love as always,
Jade x

    1. It can be tricky but I find if you've got a list of products you want to take photos of written down, when you do have good lighting just go crazy & take lots! Your photos always look great though! X

    1. I did the exact same thing when I was trying to take photos of my Sweet Peach palette! Sometimes it's frustrating as you don't want to use the product until you've photographed it! X
